A Community of Orthodox Christians

Helping the less fortunate
in Beaver County

No one should feel embarrassed
to seek the help they need.

At Beaver County Orthodox Christian Ministry (BCOCM), we know far too many people in our community lack access to food, clothing, and other basic necessities. And we know how terrifying it feels to not know where your next meal might come from.

We believe everyone in need should receive help, free of judgment and anxiety. So we came together as a local movement of Orthodox Christians, to help the homeless and working poor right here in our own neighborhoods, in the name of Christ’s love.

At BCOCM, we treat all who come to us like family, with love, respect, and compassion. BCOCM does not require anyone who helps us, or anyone who reaches out to us for help, to be an Orthodox Christian. We do our best to help all who come to us in need, regardless of their sex, race, or religion.

Like you, we care about those less fortunate in Beaver County.

Get involved. Make a real difference.

Monthly Breakfasts

On the third Saturday of each month, BCOCM hosts a free community breakfast from 8:30-10:30 AM in the fellowship hall of Saint John the Evangelist Orthodox Church. Members of the community can come in and sit down for a nutritious breakfast, enjoying fellowship with us and with each other.

A hot meal, a friendly face, and a secure, safe environment go a long way for all of us, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Food Pantry

We understand that many families in our county struggle to get by with enough food and supplies for their homes. On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, BCOCM provides emergency aid to those individuals and families, so they can one day become self-sufficient.

Our food pantry contains non-perishable food items, including canned fruits, vegetables and meats, cereals, soups, oatmeal, pasta, peanut butter, jelly, and rice. We also offer select hygiene products to any who need them, along with household items like blankets, sheets, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, cups, etc. Access to the pantry is available through referral by community pastors, case managers, or counselors.

To donate food, hygiene products, or household items to the pantry, check out our donation wish list for items we are always praying to receive. To volunteer at the pantry, click the button below!

Clothing Closet

On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, BCOCM opens its Clothing Closet to those in our community who are in desperate need. We carry men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing in various sizes, as well as infant and newborn sizes. We also provide shoes, coats, scarves, gloves, and hats.

To donate your gently-used clothing, check our donation wish list. We update it from season to season, to anticipate the needs of the community. To volunteer with the Clothing Closet, click the button below!
