Update from Father Seraphim Moslener

Former FOCUS West Central PA Director, Father Seraphim Moslener, recently released an update on FOCUS West Central PA’s activities in the near future and throughout the next year.

Dear Friends, Donors, and Volunteers of FOCUS WEST CENTRAL PA:

After some months of being off from our FOCUS work, I was appointed volunteer director beginning August 1 and am glad to be back among all our volunteers.

I will doing different work than I was doing in the previous two years, as so many of our capable volunteers have stepped forward to assume various responsibilities which make this ministry continue to be vital to the hungry, homeless, and needy in Beaver and Lawrence Counties.

I shared with our Advisory Board recently the work I will be pursuing, which includes visiting schools and parishes in those communities we want to serve; seeking volunteers and preparing them to serve with others where needed; developing fund-raising opportunities, budgeting preparation, supporting grant writing; doing general planning for expansion; and providing support to our programs where needed.

I will send information to our website on a regular basis and would ask you to check it frequently, as we will be having five events between now and the end of the year.  These will be on our website and a flyer available which can printed and copied as needed.

Our first event:  “Sundaes on Thurdsday,” September 6th at our FOCUS Center from 3-5:00pm.  Any who attend can build a sundae at no cost if a staple food listed on the flier on our website is brought or a cash donation made. This is the first of 5 fund-raising opportunities this year.

If you would like to help please email me at rmoslener@focusna.org or call our office at 724-494-8441 and we will get back to you. I am looking forward to this day, as school faculty and staff will be invited from throughout the area to learn about the work we are doing. It will be a great opportunity for them to meet our volunteers.

Please pray for myself and our board, as it will be a busy next year.

Finally, please see our website about our Annual Dinner coming on Thursday, October 18th.  All meals are free and we hope all our volunteers can attend.

God bless,

Father Seraphim Moslener, Former Director
